Anyone for a shower?

There are still too many blocked drainage gullies in parts of York. This mornings rain demonstrated the scale of the problem with flooding at the bottom of Hamilton Drive East a particular hazard. There were similar if less spectacular problems on Nigel Grove and Foxwood Lane. All have been reported for attention

Huge delays on approaches to Crockey Hill Road works UPDATE

UPDATE – Apparently the Council are to close Wheldrake Lane in an attempt to reduce delays on the A19 this evening 

Drivers are complaining about huge delays for peak hours traffic as a result of the Councils road works at Crockey Hill

Some residents are asking for the traffic light controlled restrictions to be lifted at peak times as alternative routes are also congested.

The Kiplin Hall Estate by Emma Wells, University of York

Charting Chipeling is a community archaeology project focused on Kiplin Hall in North Yorkshire. This lecture will present the results of the historic buildings analysis portion of the project and attempt to unravel the fascinating story of a post-medieval rural estate. Of early seventeenth-century origins, the Hall still preserves much of its original Jacobean character. It has belonged to four families whose antecedents include King John, James I, and Charleses I and II.

Visitors welcome. A small donation is invited.
