Good to see that the York Council is taking a tentative step towards reinstating the skip service.
The absence of the skips in recent months has contributed to an increase in dumping in the area. The skip will visit the Chapelfields, Foxwood and Kingsway areas during the next couple of months

Although this application has only just been submitted it is being “fast tracked” and will be determined at a planning sub committee meeting taking place on Thursday 6th December. The officer recommendation is that authority be delegated to approve the application. Remembrance Day event in Acomb brings local WW1 centenary events to a close
Around 500 local residents attended the Remembrance event which was held at the newly restored Acomb War Memorial today.
It was the last of the local events scheduled to commemorate the end of WW1,
On Saturday volunteers had spruced up the 12 WW1 graves which can be found in the St Stephens Cemetery
