Extra car parking space in Foxwood to be discussed tomorrow (Wednesday)
Residents living in the Foxwood area are being consulted by the Residents Association on plans to provide additional car parking spaces in the Spurr Court, Bellhouse Way & Oldman Court area.
Four options for spending the estate improvement budget this year have been worked up by Council officials (see below)
The meeting to discuss the options is taking place on Wednesday 20th July starting at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place at the Foxwood Community Centre on Bellhouse Way.
2016 garden competition launched in Foxwood
Foxwood Residents Association has launched its annual garden competition today with over £100 to be given away in prizes..
The competition is open to all residents living in the Foxwood area of the city irrespective of whether they are owner occupiers or tenants.
This year the Association is looking for the best hanging basket, tub, window box or other container which can be seen from the footpath and which contributes colour to the area.
Following the Council’s decision not to organise a garden competition this year, this will be the only chance for residents to get involved and show off their gardening skills.
Entries can be made by e mail to foxwoodra@btinternet.com detailing the address and residents can nominate their own or a neighbour’s garden.
The competition will be judged on Friday 15 July between 5pm and 8pm by Matt Reid who is the Nursery and Business Development Manager for Colour Your Garden.

Taking action in the Foxwood area
We’ve been out and about in the Foxwood area. We’ve found some issues which we’ve reported for attention.
Some problems – like nettles overgrowing the footpath on Bellhouse Way (from a private garden) – reoccur every year.
There has been a deterioration the appearance of the Rowntree estate (Wenham Road/Teal Drive) over the last few months. One problem is lack of garden maintenance – a return to the issues of 3 years ago . Some properties facing the Foxwood Park are virtually inaccessible because of overgrown hedges. Many verges are damaged and really need to be bitmaced. We hope that the residents association and Councillors will intervene to get an improvement.
