Thanks to the work of volunteers aided by the community payback team the garden at the Foxwood Community Centre is now looking amazing.
The next Foxwood Residents Association meeting on Thursday will give those attending a chance to see the work that has been done
Meanwhile the prize winners in the Foxwood Residents Association annual flower basket competition have been announced.

Foxwood Residents Association to discuss lockers, parking etc on Wednesday
The Foxwood Residents Association meets on Wednesday (7:00pm, Community Centre) and will discuss the new lockers which are being provided for flats in the area.
The meeting – which is open to all residents living in the Foxwood area – will also hear how plans to provide matrix protection, for the grassed parking area in Doherty Walk, are progressing.
Foxwood residents plan “Britain in Bloom” award bid
Judges will be touring the Foxwood area in July judging the Britain in Bloom contest. The area has done well in the past and residents are hoping for similar success this year.
Over the last year, improvements have been made to several communal areas like the Foxwood Park, the Community Centre gardens and Chesneys Field.
A new interpretation board has recently been provided at the entrance to the park.
Gardening classes were held at the Community Center last year while this years “garden of the year” contest is due to be launched next week.
Foxwood Park looking good in summer sun
The improvements undertaken by volunteers last year to the Foxwood Park area are now more apparent as the area is bathed in the summer sun.
Members of the residents association have worked hard to clear undergrowth and install new seats. Local children made plaques for the railings
Its disappointing that the new (somewhat confused) York Council web site doesn’t even list the park as an open space
Residents from across the City will be able to see the progress made when the Foxwood Park Country Fair takes place next Saturday
