Residents at Foxwood Co op this morning

Foxwood Residents Association officials are visiting the Coop shop on Beagle Ridge Drive this morning. They will be encouraging shoppers to nominate Foxwood as a beneficiary of a grants scheme set up by the Coop. The local residents Association gets a grant equal to 1% of the shopping bill of any participating member. This is a unique a “no cost” opportunity to help the local community.

Good work by Residents Association as verge finally surfaced on Foxwood Lane

Persistent work by the Foxwood Residents Association has resulted in a muddy verge being hard surfaced on Foxwood Lane. It shouldn’t have taken so long but it demonstrates that persistence does pay off in the end.

Hopefully now the unstable style access to Acomb Moor will be repaired by the Council. It has been an issue for over 2 years.

The style access to the Public Right of Way across Acomb Moor has become unstable.

The Fair was held at the Acorn Rugby Ground. The Acorn Rugby team have fared quite well in National League 1 this season. They have recorded 11 victories.

Across the road, the Beagle football team recorded another win on Saturday. They travelled to Bubwith where they forced a 2 – 1 victory. They are at home at Chesneys Field next Saturday when they host Stamford Bridge in a 2:00pm kick off.

The Foxwood Residents Association will be meeting on Wednesday. The local Police Inspector is expected to attend the meeting which is taking place at the Foxwood Community centre starting at 7:00pm. Details here. On the agenda will be a discussion about various anti social behaviour incidents which have taken place in the area over the last couple of months. The meeting is open to any resident living in the Foxwood area.

Sheena has reported an overgrown bush which is partly obstructing the path on Bellhouse Way

Residents will be undertaking a “walk about” in the area on Wednesday. They will be joined by housing managers and representatives from the JRHT. It is hoped that problems like overgrown bushes and trees will be identified and dealt with following the visits.

Flower bed in Foxwood gets make over from “Good Gym”

The flower beds in Corlett Court in Foxwood were refurbished earlier in the year. Unfortunately, during the recent dry spell,  one bed was taken taken over by a particularly pernicious form of weed. The weeds had strangled growth of the Lavender plants that had been cultivated.

Thanks to “Good Gym” for removing the weed then replanting the lavender and other low level plants.

18 bags of weeds were removed together with a bag of rubbish.

Great work by “Good Gym” who make a real difference to the appearance of our City
