Aug 6_Natural ShocksAn exciting and innovative new production by Beach Hut Theatre Company takes place at York Explore Library.  The free-to-attend performances called ‘Natural Shocks’ are a roller-coaster exploration of Shakespeare’s work as a dramatist and lyricist.

Seven extracts from seven famous works of Shakespeare have inspired seven newly commissioned short plays. These plays, in combination with the original Shakespearean extracts that inspired them, will be repeatedly performed throughout the day in a contemporary art setting designed by artist Andy Black. A selection of song lyrics from various plays has generated an eighth musical performance piece with an especially written original score by John Pattison.

This site-specific event celebrates the heritage of the Bard in an exciting, challenging and innovative way in this anniversary year of his death.

Further details about Beach Hut Theatre, new productions and projects are available at:  www.beachhuttheatre.co.uk : Facebook Page – Beach Hut Theatre Company : Twitter – @BeachHutTheatre.
