York residents invited to give their views on buses

Old west Yorks busCity of York Council is calling on bus passengers in York to tell bus operators their views on local services at a ‘bus surgery’ event on Parliament Street on Saturday 14 May, from 2-4pm.

The ‘bus surgery’ will give residents a chance to speak with York’s bus providers including First York, Arriva and Transdev.

The event will be held on a bus provided by First York.

There will also be a full range of timetables and maps for people to plan their next bus journey.

What’s on in York: Fantasy Fish Yarnstorming Workshops

May _10Fantasy FishPlease come and join Sally Stone & Deborah New to make a giant yarnstormed fantasy fish installation for Rowntree Park, York to help raise funds for the York Flood Appeal.

At our fish making workshops, there will be knitting, stitching, pompom making, finger knitting, & knitting with very large needles.  Drop in – all materials provided.

Anyone who wants to join in can.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We are going to turn the morning break into an indulgent experience as Crime Festival Reader in Residence and bestselling crime author, Mari Hannah talks about PD James’ An Unsuitable Job for a Woman over coffee and cake.

Free copies (while stocks last) of An Unsuitable Job for a Woman will be available to collect from Rowntree Park Reading Cafe before the event.
