A little girl named Penny has been enslaved by the creepy Madame Medusa and sent into the dangerous seaside caves of the swamp to search for a lost pirate’s gem called the Devil’s Eye. When Penny is able to send a message in a bottle, the Rescue Aid Society springs into action and dispatches one of their top members Ms. Bianca and their caretaker Bernard on a rescue mission. With the help of an albatross named Orville and the local swamp dwellers, Ms. Bianca and Bernard must pull off an impossible rescue…

What’s on in York: Learn to Nordic Walk

 City of York Council is inviting residents to Learn to Nordic Walk later this month.

The council’s latest Nordic walking course starts on Friday 25 August and sessions will take place every Friday for four weeks from 10am until 11am, meeting at the Rowntree Park Reading Café.

Nordic walking is one of the fastest growing activities in the UK and at the end of the course participants will receive a Nordic Walking UK Freedom Card, which will enable them to attend Nordic Walking groups anywhere in the UK, including several in the York area.

The cost of the course is £25, and booking is essential as places are limited.
