Deaths

There have been no further hospital deaths announced today

Test results

Eight additional positive test results have been announced today. This brings the cumulative total up to 12,167.

The number of cases in the City remains stable at 19

The infection rate /100k population figure remains at 9.02. It is expected to increase to over 13.0 tomorrow before falling back to around 10 where it may remain for the rest of the week.

The hiccup predates todays easing of restrictions and may reflect a more casual attitude towards controls during the Easter Bank Holiday.

No major changes in distribution of cases today

Vaccinations

Tests

3692 PCR tests were conducted during the week ending 7th April 2021.

Of these, 0.5% were positive. That is the same proportion as the previous day.

5420 “lateral flow” tests were also conducted on 11th April 2021

Hospitals

The number of COVID-19 patients being cared for by the York Hospital Trust continues to fall.

Shoppers returning as York City centre reopens

Restrictions on shops, hairdressers and outside catering eased today. Sunshine helped to attract a good number of visitors to the City centre.
