Renewed appeal after 87-year-old cyclist dies following A1237 crash near Woodthorpe

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after an 87-year-old cyclist injured in a collision in York has sadly died

The collision happened on Saturday 13 July at around 2.30pm on the on A1237 between the Copmanthorpe and Woodthorpe roundabouts.

It involved a bright blue BMW travelling towards Clifton Moor and the pedal cyclist who was crossing the road.

The cyclist, an 87-year-old man from York, was airlifted to hospital with multiple serious injuries but died in hospital on Monday evening (15 July).

The driver of the BMW, a 60-year-old man also from York, was uninjured.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or saw either vehicle prior to the collision, particularly anyone with dashcam footage.

Appeal for information following fatal road traffic collision on Wetherby Road

Police are appealing to witnesses of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the B1224 at Rufforth, York, on Monday 6 April to come forward with information.

Collision

The incident happened at 1pm and involved a motorcycle, a Ford Fiesta and a van.

Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 40 year old man from York, suffered fatal injuries and died as a result of the incident.

The woman driver, and single occupant of the ford fiesta, suffered shock and was taken home by police. There were three occupants in the van, a man and a woman who suffered minor injuries, but who did not go to hospital, and a man who suffered more serious injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, although his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road was closed for several hours whilst circumstances surrounding the incident were investigated by police.

Witness appeal following serious collision at Carr Lane junction

Police are appealing for a vital witness to come forward after a road traffic collision in York, which left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

It occurred at around 12.15am on Saturday 8 February 2014, at the junction of Boroughbridge Road and Carr Lane.

The collision involved a silver Skoda Octavia taxi, travelling along Boroughbridge Road towards the city, and a 31-year-old York man, crossing the road from Carr Lane towards Ouse Acres.
