Appeal for witnesses following an assault in Westfield play park

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a assault that occurred in the park next to Westfield Primary Community School in Acomb.

It happened at approximately 5pm on Wednesday 7 April when two boys, aged 12 and 11 years-old , are believed to have been assaulted by a group of youths aged between about 12-16.

The two victims did not receive any injuries. We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Appeal following assault at Askham Bar, York

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault near Tesco at Askham Bar, York.

The incident happened on Monday 8 March at around 11.40am when an 18 year old was assaulted as he left the Tesco store making his way back to York College. It happened on the ramp that leads from the Tesco carpark to the crossing on Tadcaster Rd.

The suspect is described as a white man, of student age, around 5ft 11in in height, with brown hair and of medium build. He was believed to be wearing wearing a light grey hoodie and dark brown skinny jeans and grey trainers.

Police appeal for information after man is seriously assaulted on Green Lane, Acomb

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which left a man with significant facial injuries, to contact them.

At around 10pm on Thursday 10 September 2020, the victim, a 44-year-old man from York, left the Clockhouse Pub on Kingsway in Acomb with one other male. The victim was wearing a dark coloured jumper and dark tracksuit style bottoms.

As the victim was walking down Green Lane, he was approached by an unknown male who was seen to speak to the victim and then subject him to a serious assault. The unknown male then left the scene.

The victim was taken to York District Hospital with significant facial fractures. He currently remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A dark coloured vehicle, believed to be a SAAB, was seen in the area shortly before the assault. Officers are particularly keen to trace this vehicle as the occupants may have important information which could assist their enquiries. Members of the public who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident, who may have captured dash cam footage are also encouraged to come forward.

Woman arrested in connection with attack on man and dog on Hob Moor

A woman has been arrested in connection with an attack on a man and his dog on Hob Moor in York yesterday.

North Yorkshire Police officers arrested the 51-year-old woman at an address in York at 2.25pm this afternoon.

She was arrested on suspicion of racially-aggravated assault and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, in connection with the incident on the evening of Tuesday 9 June 2020.

She was further arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of class B drugs.

She remains in custody at this time, while police enquiries continue.

Video footage of the incident had been circulated on social media. A number of members of the public contacted North Yorkshire Police with information about the incident.

Appeal for information following assault at McColl’s on Gale Lane

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after a member of staff was assaulted at the McColl’s store on Gale Lane, Acomb.

The incident happened at around 9.10pm on Saturday 14 September and involved a male who went into the store and assaulted a member of staff.

Appeal for information following a serious assault on Hob Moor

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a serious assault that occurred recently in the Hob Moor area of York.

It happened at around 6pm on Wednesday 4 September and involved the serious assault of a 64-year-old local man who was walking his dog on Hob Moor.

The victim received facial injuries and lacerations to his mouth which required hospital treatment.

As a result of the current police investigation, a 63-year-old man from York was arrested and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

We are asking for the public’s help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with any information they have.

Police seek help following Cornlands Road assault

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred on Cornlands Road in York.

It happened at 10.30am on Thursday 12 April 2018  when the victim, a 32-year-old local woman, was stood at the bus stop.

She was approached by a man on a bicycle who told her to give him a cigarette. He grabbed her by the right forearm and told her to give him her mobile phone.

The First York number 4 bus then arrived and the victim got on. She was uninjured and did not lose any of her property during the incident.

At this time no arrests have been made.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the identity of the male suspect.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft 6in tall, dark-brown shaggy hair with a bit of a fringe which didn’t reach his eyebrows, skinny build, a gaunt face which shows his cheekbones, dark eyebrows and brown staining on his teeth as if he was a heavy smoker.

He was wearing a white Superdry jacket with blue jeans which had a rip in them, which the victim thinks was on the left knee, and  brown leather-style shoes. He spoke with a local York accent and he was riding a black battered mountain bike.

Police appeal following incident on Windsor Garth, York

 

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an incident involving a member of the public who was possibly assaulted.

The incident happened at about 12.30am on Sunday 7 May 2017 when a man was walking along Windsor Garth, York.

Prior to the incident there were two young men aged in their twenties who were walking behind the member of the public and they appeared to be arguing.

The member of the public then woke up on the floor on Windsor Garth and had suffered a head injury. It is unsure at this stage how the injury was sustained or what caused it.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police appeal for information after 13 year old boy assaulted on number 1 bus in Acomb

 North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault on a 13-year-old boy on the number 1 bus travelling from York city centre in the direction of Acomb on Monday 3 April 2017.
 At around 4pm the boy was sitting at the front of the bus on the top deck. The bus had just left the Blossom Street bus stop when a man described as white, aged in his 50’s of large build with a bald head and grey hair to the sides, wearing a grey round neck jumper and carrying a white carrier bag sat next to the boy. The man is believed to have assaulted the boy by grabbing his face and elbowing him in the chin, causing the boy to fall backwards. The man then left the bus at the Front Street bus stop in Acomb.
The 13-year-old victim did not suffer any serious injuries, but has been left shaken by the incident.
Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
We are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular from a man who it is believed challenged the suspect following the incident.
