Police seek help following Cornlands Road assault

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred on Cornlands Road in York.

It happened at 10.30am on Thursday 12 April 2018  when the victim, a 32-year-old local woman, was stood at the bus stop.

She was approached by a man on a bicycle who told her to give him a cigarette. He grabbed her by the right forearm and told her to give him her mobile phone.

The First York number 4 bus then arrived and the victim got on. She was uninjured and did not lose any of her property during the incident.

At this time no arrests have been made.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the identity of the male suspect.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft 6in tall, dark-brown shaggy hair with a bit of a fringe which didn’t reach his eyebrows, skinny build, a gaunt face which shows his cheekbones, dark eyebrows and brown staining on his teeth as if he was a heavy smoker.

He was wearing a white Superdry jacket with blue jeans which had a rip in them, which the victim thinks was on the left knee, and  brown leather-style shoes. He spoke with a local York accent and he was riding a black battered mountain bike.

Police appeal following incident on Windsor Garth, York

 

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an incident involving a member of the public who was possibly assaulted.

The incident happened at about 12.30am on Sunday 7 May 2017 when a man was walking along Windsor Garth, York.

Prior to the incident there were two young men aged in their twenties who were walking behind the member of the public and they appeared to be arguing.

The member of the public then woke up on the floor on Windsor Garth and had suffered a head injury. It is unsure at this stage how the injury was sustained or what caused it.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can provide any further information about the incident to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.

Police appeal for information after 13 year old boy assaulted on number 1 bus in Acomb

 North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault on a 13-year-old boy on the number 1 bus travelling from York city centre in the direction of Acomb on Monday 3 April 2017.
 At around 4pm the boy was sitting at the front of the bus on the top deck. The bus had just left the Blossom Street bus stop when a man described as white, aged in his 50’s of large build with a bald head and grey hair to the sides, wearing a grey round neck jumper and carrying a white carrier bag sat next to the boy. The man is believed to have assaulted the boy by grabbing his face and elbowing him in the chin, causing the boy to fall backwards. The man then left the bus at the Front Street bus stop in Acomb.
The 13-year-old victim did not suffer any serious injuries, but has been left shaken by the incident.
Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
We are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular from a man who it is believed challenged the suspect following the incident.

Police appeal after 13-year-old schoolboy assaulted on Hob Moor

 

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in York.

It happened on Hob Moor, off Tadcaster Road, at about 3.45pm on 7 February 2017, and involved a 13-year-old boy from York who was on his way home from school on his bicycle. He was riding his bike over Hob Moor when he encountered a man aged about 30-40, who grabbed him and punched him several times in the face before making off towards Tadcaster Road, York, on foot.

The boy received minor injuries to his face, and was checked over by paramedics after the incident.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the suspect, who has been described as a white male, aged around 30-40, approximately 5ft 8ins in height, of slim build, with a dark shaved head and stubble to the face and wearing dark clothing.

Appeal for information – 13-year-old boy assaulted in Hob Moor, York.

A 13-year-old local boy has been assaulted on the cycle track between Hob Moor and Tadcaster Road in York.
At 3.30pm on Wednesday 25 November 2015, a young man aged approximately 19 to 20-years-old forcefully grabbed the young victim and pulled him off his bicycle and shook him violently. 

Fortunately the victim did not require hospital treatment but has been left distressed by the incident.

Officers are appealing for information about the assault and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

In particular, they are appealing for information about a white man aged 19 to 20-years-old, about 6ft tall of medium build with short curly ginger hair.  The man was wearing a black hoody and blue or black trousers and was seen to by riding a blue BMX bicycle.

Police appeal after York man’s nose broken

Police in York are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault on a man in the early hours of Sunday 1 November 2015.police appeal
The attack happened outside Society Bar on Rougier Street when a 20-year-old man from York was repeatedly punched to the head and knocked to the ground.

The victim sustained serious injuries to his face including a broken nose, cuts to his head and face, a black eye and muscle damage to his neck.

The area was busy with people celebrating Halloween and officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Society Bar between midnight and 1pm to contact them.

They also want to hear from anyone who has any information about who carried out the attack.

York police seek witnesses to two assaults

Witness appeal following five-a-side assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a man during a five-a-side football match in York.

Then incident happened at the York Sports Village in Heslington, on Tuesday 29 September 2015.

Two local teams kicked off their game at 9.20pm. Towards the end of the game, a 28 year old man from York was punched in the face and knocked unconscious by a member of the opposing team.

The offender is described as a white man, aged early to mid-twenties with short shaven hair and of stocky/big build. He was wearing a red Liverpool football kit.

Witnesses sought to Bank Holiday daytime assault in York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August 2015, near the Castle car park in York city centre.

The assault took place in the alley next to Fenwicks between the Coppergate Centre and the Castle Carpark at 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday. A 15-year-old boy was punched in the face by a stranger, causing a cut to his face and damage to his glasses. The assault was witnessed by his younger brother.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have been in the Coppergate Centre, the alley next to Fenwicks, or the Castle car park around the time of the offence.

In particular, we are appealing for information about three males who followed the victim and his brother from the Coppergate Centre and into the alleyway where the victim was assaulted.

Male one is white, 17-18 years in age, about 6ft tall, slim, and has short dark hair. He was wearing a brown/green thigh length coat with a hood, a light coloured jumper underneath his coat, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side, and black trainers with white laces.

Male two is white, 15-16 years in age, about 5ft 6inches in height, and has short mousy blond hair. He was wearing A light brown coloured tracksuit and black trainers and he carried a black rucksack.

Male three is tanned, 12-13 years in age, about 5ft and with short blond hair. He was wearing a light grey hooded jumper and dark trousers.

Police appeal after man suffers facial injuries in Holgate assault

York police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted outside the One Stop Shop on Acomb Road in York.

The attack happened on Sunday 25 October 2015 at around 4.25pm when a vulnerable 60-year-old man was verbally abused before being assaulted by another man or youth outside the shop.

The victim attended York District Hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, in particular two men who approached the scene of the incident shortly after the assault.
