York Cllrs Ann Reid and Jonny Hayes are to receive awards in the New Years Honours list.

Ann Reid receives the MBE for services to the local community. She was first elected to serve the Foxwood and Woodthorpe areas in September 1986. She is a a former Lord Mayor and is now one of the City’s longest serving Councillors

Independent Councillor Jonny Hayes will receive his award for services to the Bishopthorpe Road community. He was influential in the recent revival of shops in that part of the City.

Also on the list is Darrell Buttery who receives recognition for services to heritage in the City. He was also a Councillor in the 1960’s
