A "jobs fair" will take place at the Church Hall on Front Street on 2nd November. With unemployment now at record low levels several employers are desperate to fill vacancies.

The week ended with another successful street market in Acomb. Popular stalls included Acomb Alive's tombola, Lodge Farms "fat dogs", Pav's indian sacks and a stall selling probably the best fruit cake in Yorkshire. The next market takes place on 26th Nov.
