After a delay, the Ward Committee published and started to distribute a ballot paper. This gives residents the opportunity to decide how a delegated budget should be spent in the local area. Residents have until 15th November to return the form.
A “jobs fair” will take place at the Church Hall on Front Street on 2nd November. With unemployment now at record low levels in York, several employers are desperate to fill vacancies.
The week ended with another successful street market in Acomb. Popular stalls included Acomb Alive’s tombola, Lodge Farms “fat dogs”, Pav’s Indian snacks and a stall selling probably the best fruit cake in Yorkshire. The next market takes place on 26th Nov.
