According to the York Council the City has submitted a bid to be “a host city for matches to be held as part of the Rugby League World Cup 2021″.
A report is to be considered by the Councils Executive committee on 29th November.
The report will ask members to agree the Council’s contribution to the bid and to “commit the necessary resources”.
No details of the costs and benefits of the proposal have yet been published.
