Test results
Fifteen additional positive test results announced today. Brings the cumulative total up to 12,422. This is the largest single day total seen since March.
Case numbers increase from 39 to 40, but bigger hike expected tomorrow (Tuesday)
The rate /100k population has risen to 18.99. It looks now like we will see an increase to over 26 over the next few days.
Year on year infection rate profiles continue to diverge. The increase in case numbers, seen since lockdown was eased on 17th May, is beginning to track the steep increases seen before Christmas.
The authorities need to advise residents what their “track and trace” results are telling them about likely points of infection.
However, hospitalisations – and deaths – are currently very low.
Infection rates are now increasing at City, County, regional and national levels.
The age profile of those providing positive test results shows that the vast majority related to people aged under 60 (92%). A more detailed demographic breakdown should be available later in the week
