Publication of Saturdays results was delayed “because of technical reasons”

51 positive test results. The lowest for several weeks. Brings total to 16,777

The number of cases in the City has fallen from 1030 to 970.

The rate /100k population continues to fall. It currently stands at 460.57. It is currently trending to fall below 400 later in the week.

While not yet showing a decline in infection rates the rate of growth at county, regional and national level is slowing. During previous waves, case number trends at these levels have tended to mirror what was seen in York, albeit delayed by several days.

  • 8513 PCR tests were completed on the week ending 19th July 2021.
  • Of these, 11.8% were positive. That is below the 12% positivity rate found during the previous period.
  • In addition, 2054 “lateral flow” tests were completed on 23rd July 2021
