Hospital patients and deaths

One additional patient is being cared for by the York Hospital Trust. There have been no further deaths

Test results

148 positive test results announced today. Brings the cumulative case total to 13,545

The number of cases in the City has increased from 411 to 460. The peak number of cases recorded in the City was 1413 (8/1/21)

The rate/100k has increased to 218.41. This is the highest infection rate recorded since 25/1/21. It is trending to top 300 later in the week.

The infection rate in the City is now much higher than the national level and continues to grow at a faster rate.

Neighbourhoods

The Heslington area now has an infection rate in the highest band.

It is also now at the highest level seen in that neighbourhood since 23rd October 2020.

Tang Hall has become the second neighbourhood to record an infection rate above 400.

Acomb and New Earswick currently have low infection rates

Vaccinations

1097 vaccinations were completed in York yesterday.

Tests

  • 6698 PCR tests were carried out during the week ending 23rd June 2021.
  • Of these, 6.4% were positive. That is a further increase on the 5.8% positivity found during the previous period
  • 3873 “lateral flow” tests were also carried out on 27th June.
